Self cleaning floor heads in the bottom of a pool can be a challange to pressure test. Just removing the heads requires a special tool for the specific head. These new caretaker covers are for testing underground floor plumbing for leaks during the initial stages of dye testing. Simply put; if the pump has been off, a broken pool pipe will pull dye into the clear tube indicating a break in the pipe under the floor. It is a very effective way to quickly determine if the plumbing is the problem.
The plugs answer the question- is the FLOOR SYSTEM plumbing broken or not?. The patented design is made of durable vinyl and will last a lifetime of use. Included in the set are eight floor head covers with one having the static dye test tube. The 8 units are stackable taking up little space in your tool box.
Incorporated into every cover is a 5oz lead weight to hold the dome securly where you place it. This also sets the seal tight against the pool floor. This lead weght is fitted tight into the top of the cover still allowing the stack of covers to interlock as one unit. Another feaure designed into this cover is the ability to seal up and dye test a 4" pipe such as a spa bottom drain or a large fountain pipe. This water tight seal is tight enough to hold back water so the pipe can be cut and repaired.
